A record amount of Trust Lands Permanent Funds will be distributed to Utah public schools for the 2026-2027 school year, up 20% from last year. The School and Institutional Trust Funds Office announcement shared that schools will be notified of their School LAND Trust Fund allocations this week, giving administrators and school community councils a first look at their forthcoming grant. Allocations are made to every public school in the state based on a per-pupil formula and the purpose of the funds is to support academic intervention and innovation, help reduce class sizes, expand access to technology, and enhance professional development. Uintah School District will receive $1.4 million dollars which is $234,400 more than last year. Duchesne County School District will receive $1.2 million dollars which is $184,000 more than last year. Daggett School District will receive $309,000 which is $46,700 more than last year. “Utah students benefit from a trust system that delivers strong results and protects both current and future beneficiaries,” shares State Treasurer Marlo Oaks, who chairs the SITFO Board. “Careful land management and prudent investment decisions strengthen schools today and preserve the fund for generations to come.”
