New Vernal City Mayor Corey Foley has a message for the community as he looks forward to this year. “In 2026 I look forward to completing some of our ongoing projects,” shares Mayor Foley. “[This includes] our 3500 West water line replacement, completing our sidewalk extension on 500 West, many water and sewer connection upgrades, completing the Cobblerock block project, and beginning the demolition phase of the Lamplighter block.” Mayor Foley also shared that some of his goals as Mayor are to continue support for our Vernal Police Department, improving communication and ensuring transparency and trust with the public, continuing to support and grow community events, continuing the facade grant program, working with Ashley Valley Water & Sewer Improvement District to find solutions to culinary water connection problems, and more. Vernal City has invited the public to the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected officials. On Monday, January 5th at noon, Vernal City will hold the special meeting to swear in the newly elected Mayor Corey Foley, incumbent City Council member Ted Munford and new City Council member Nick Porter.
