If you’re a woman and learning self defense is among your goals for 2026, an opportunity is coming up to help you reach your goal. Uintah Special Service District 1 has partnered with Vernal Police Department and Triad Jiu Jitsu to offer a course this spring but space is limited so registration is required. “Join us for this 3 week course covering safety tips and self-defense skills,” shares the announcement. “[This is] for ages 16 and older. Bring your moms, sisters, daughters, friends, neighbors- all the women in your life.” The course is taking place March 14th, 21st, and 28th at the Uintah Recreation Center and registration opens January 1st.
