Tis’ the season of giving, even at the liquor store. Starting this week, shoppers at any of the 52 state liquor stores are asked to leave a donation to support a local charity. The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services launched the donation drive in 2023 after Governor Cox asked all state agencies to participate in acts of service and due to the event’s success, liquor stores are continuing the effort.“Employees at liquor stores spanning Utah are the drivers of this robust donation drive. They select the local charities and manage the collection and distribution process,” shares DABS Director Ericka Evans. “I’m grateful to our store employees for the care and commitment they have to service and supporting their neighbors in need.” Store number 28 in Vernal is gathering donations for the Ashley Valley Food Pantry and Uintah Animal Shelter. Donations are being gathered through the end of February.
