Man Wanted On Statewide Warrant Arrested In Myton

A repeat DUI offender was pulled over after leaving the Family Dollar on Monday. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, 54-year-old Jayson Curtis Ponton was a wanted person and officers confirmed that he had an active statewide warrant and no valid driver’s license before initiating a traffic stop. Ponton had a revoked license with prior DUI convictions and was required to have an ignition interlock device. He admitted to having marijuana in his pocket and admitted to recent meth and marijuana use. Field sobriety testing was performed and a chemical blood test was consented to. Jayson Ponton was booked into Duchesne County Jail and is charged with 3rd Degree Felony DUI, Driving on a Revoked License, as well as other misdemeanor offenses.
