Repeat Offender Pulled Over For DUI With Minor In The Vehicle

A traffic stop ended in arrest for a repeat DUI offender and this time a minor under the age of 16 was in the vehicle. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a traffic stop was made in Roosevelt near 65 South 200 East and the officer found that the driver had a suspended license and noted that her behavior was erratic with very up and down emotions, glossy eyes, slurred speech, and had an odor of alcohol and marijuana. Several open containers of alcohol were found in the vehicle as well as a package of marijuana product. She would not cooperate with field sobriety testing. 33-year-old Tia-Anna Bascum Wopsock was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence with a passenger in the vehicle under age 16. It was also discovered that Tia had 2 prior convictions of DUI, thus bringing the new charge to a 3rd Degree Felony.
