If you saw green lights shining from buildings or businesses in Duchesne County leading up to Veterans Day, it was for a special cause. Locals joined a national effort to show support for veterans as part of the Operation Green Light for Veterans. The National Association of Counties and other organizations encourage county governments across the nation to lead the way by passing a county resolution and then choosing buildings and areas in their jurisdiction to light up green for the week leading up to Veterans Day. Duchesne County passed their Resolution 25-11 on November 3rd in order to “recognize the importance of honoring all those who made immeasurable sacrifices to preserve freedom.” The green lights were just one of many ways locals honored Veterans on and around November 11th.
