A man with a history of assault has been arrested in Duchesne County on new charges. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers were dispatched to an address in Duchesne City where 38-year-old Matthew Lamont Larsen was found laying on the side of the road. He began yelling at officers that he was drunk and was going to be taken to jail. Officers noted Larsen had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him, blood shot eyes, and slurred speech. The officer spoke to the individual in front of the residence who said Larsen had purchased a bottle of fireball alcohol and the entire bottle was consumed. The individual said Larsen had pulled a shelf off the wall and assaulted them. The red marks on the individual’s neck, face, and forearm were observed. Larsen allegedly then left the residence and returned with another bottle of alcohol and would not leave the residence when asked. Officers arrested Matthew Larsen and transported him to Duchesne County Jail. A criminal records check showed that Larsen has 2 prior domestic violence assault convictions and 2 prior criminal charges of property damage within 5 years. He is being held without bail and is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Assault, Property Damage, and Public Intoxication.
