UBTech announced this week a new partnership with a local oil and gas company that will provide scholarships to more students. ‘Wasatch Energy Management/WEM Operating’ began operating wells in the Basin in 2023 and has since drilled and completed 21 horizontal wells. “Supporting the trades is essential,” said Kimball Hodges, President of WEM. “We need a highly trained workforce, and we want to support the rising generation. This scholarship is one way we can give back and help build a strong future for the Basin.” UBTech President Aaron Weight echoed the importance of the partnership: “This collaboration with WEM is a powerful example of what happens when industry and education come together to serve the community. These scholarships will open doors for students and help meet the workforce needs of our region.” The scholarship fund is open to students pursuing any UBTech program.
