A global provider of energy data and intelligence has announced a project in the Uinta Basin. TGS is an energy data and intelligence provider based out of Norway that provides a global energy data library to its customers. On Thursday, TGS announced their ‘Roosevelt 3D seismic onshore survey’ getting underway in the Uinta Basin. Covering 202 square miles, this survey is the company’s first multi-client project in the region and a significant step in advancing exploration within one of North America’s prominent basins. “The Roosevelt 3D survey is a pivotal milestone in our expansion into the Uinta Basin,” shares Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS. “Through the application of advanced subsurface imaging technologies, we are delivering high-resolution data that enhances geological modeling, identifies critical subsurface features and supports informed reservoir exploration and development decisions.” The survey targets key formations, including the Green River formation, and covers 667 wells, “providing a comprehensive dataset that supports reservoir modeling and decision-making.” The announcement states that recording for the Roosevelt 3D survey will begin in late 2025 and is expected to conclude in the fall of 2026. The full dataset is expected to be complete by the end of 2026.
