The 2nd annual USU Uintah Basin STEAM Expo was a fantastic success earlier this month. Utah State TODAY reported that 5th through 8th grade students descended upon the USU Roosevelt campus for the event that fosters excitement for math, science, and the arts. “We had about 1,300 students from Duchesne and Uintah County schools along with many homeschool students and about 30 different exhibitors for the expo,” said Don Busenbark, assistant department head of mathematics and statistics for Statewide Campuses and one of the leaders of the expo. “Students were able to learn about fossils, drones, art, oil careers and technology, building trades, engineering, health, CPR, fire, police, coding, chemistry, robotics, animals, etc.” Over 30 organizations joined the USU faculty in making the STEAM Expo a success.
