Uintah County Budget Opener This Tuesday

Uintah County issued a press release on Friday announcing that the Uintah County Commissioners invite the public to attend the upcoming budget opener during the County Commission meeting on Tuesday. “We are looking forward to highlighting the additional grants and donations the Economic Development Department and County were able to acquire,” said Commissioner Norton. “This extra money allows for support and growth of our community.” The budget increase resolution, presented during the work session, will be considered for approval. Most increases reflect grants and donations that must be budgeted before they can be spent. These changes are not related to proposed salary increases. Uintah County Economic Development received funding through the Rural County Grant Program (RCG) from the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity. This supports the local Rise & Thrive Business Speed Pitch Competition, general contractor pre-licensing course, annual customer service training, Small-Town Comeback documentary series, and the Small Business Micro-Grant Program. The micro-grant program has leveraged over $500,000 in local investment since 2024, as well as one time allocations to the new USU Extension drone program, Vernal Regional Airport infrastructure, and Project Alley. The budget opener is taking place this Tuesday, October 7th, at 3:00pm in the Commission Chambers during the Uintah County Commission meeting.
