The Utah Department of Transportation has good news for those traveling US-191 into Duchesne. “The intersection at US-191 and US-40 is now open to traffic and the improvements are nearly complete,” shares the announcement. “The new right-turn lane and wider corner will allow easier turning onto US-40 and help traffic move more smoothly through the intersection. With the updated traffic signal and wider turning radius, vehicles can continue on US-191 instead of diverting to local streets. These upgrades are designed to improve safety, traffic flow and travel time for the community. Crews will remain on site to complete concrete work on the road shoulders, but no further closures are expected.” UDOT also shared that on US-191 north of the summit, crews will be placing the last layer of pavement for the new passing lane between mileposts 272 and 275. “They will also be installing guardrail at various locations. Near the summit and to the south, chainsaw crews are removing trees in preparation for next year’s construction season. Over the next couple of weeks, they may be working near the road shoulders.”
