An alleged thief is behind bars after selling stolen items to buyers on Facebook Marketplace. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, in 2023, the victim in this case traveled to his property in Lake Canyon west of Starvation Reservoir and found that the gate to his property was open with the chain cut. It appeared that someone had entered the residence through the window but nothing appeared to be gone from the home. He then checked on his large shed and found that the chain was broken and multiple motorcycles, 4-wheelers, a utility trailer, ammunition, and other items had been taken. All items had serial numbers listed on NCIC. On September 1st, 2025, a report came forward that an Oren man requested a VIN inspection on a motorcycle and it was found to be stolen. The man reported that he had found the motorcycle for sale on Facebook Marketplace. On August 27th, 2025, he met the seller, Collin Jorgensen, on Highway 40 in Fruitland and followed Collin to his property near Strawberry River Road. He purchased two motorcycles from Collin, both of which were identified as among the items stolen from the victim in 2023. On September 19th, a search warrant was served on the residence of 34-year-old Collin Patrick Jorgensen and several remaining stolen items were located. Collin Jorgensen was arrested and is charged with 3 counts of 2nd Degree Felony Theft of an Operable Vehicle and 1 count of Misdemeanor Theft.
