For anyone that has enjoyed time at the Uintah County Library it will come as no surprise that the library has been recognized on a state level. The Utah State Library named the Uintah County Library a ‘Quality Library’ and the etched crystal award is on display in the library’s lobby for those that would like to see it. Criteria considered in this achievement include outreach, digital presence, resource sharing, professional involvement, engaging programming, staff development, collaboration, and innovation. Uintah County Library shared a few things of many that helped them meet and exceed the criteria: “We brought our library services out towards the community, serving 15 homebound patrons in over 250 visits, reaching 600 people in our community programs, and establishing several partnerships across the basin…We’ve fulfilled 750 patron requests for items and have purchased 525 items to better serve the community’s needs…Over half of our staff have exceeded the required training hours by 50%…[And] we have served over 50,000 people in our partnership with the Duchesne and Wasatch libraries.” Congratulations to the Uintah County Library staff!
