Highway 6 Reopened After Being Closed Following Semi Crash And Fire

The UDOT Traffic site shows that Highway 6 is once again open after a long closure following a two semi crash that resulted in dangers posed by the resulting fire. The crash took place on Sunday morning near Helper in which a semi turned in front of another semi. The resulting collision caused one semi to block the road while the other went up in flames. The area was evacuated due to the increased danger from the fire. The northbound lane was closed and detoured at Spring Glen Road (milepost 236) and the southbound lane was closed and detoured at Main Street (milepost 232). As of Monday morning, the UDOT Traffic site showed that lanes were no longer blocked on Highway 6 but the incident was still marked on the map. All are encouraged to slow down and pay attention while traveling through that area.
