The parking area and walking trail to access the Uintah County Via Ferrata in Ashley Gorge has been given the green light. The BLM National NEPA Register shares that Uintah County submitted a request for a right-of-way to construct and operate a 1.5 acre parking area with facilities on BLM-administered land on the east side of Ashley Springs Road. A BLM press release was issued on September 19th, stating that the Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office issued the Environmental Assessment and decision record that authorizes a right-of-way to Uintah County for constructing and operating a parking area with trash receptacles, restrooms, a shade structure-and designating a rudimentary walking trail. For more information, please contact the Vernal Field Office at 435-781-4400. The decision record can be found at eplanning.blm.gov
