Arrest In Duchesne County Alleges Forcible Sexual Abuse Causing Injury

A man is facing serious felony charges in Duchesne County for alleged actions against a victim in 2024 and 2025. 49-year-old Joshua Kip Miles was arrested for the offense listed as 1st Degree Felony Forcible Sexual Abuse Causing Serious Bodily Injury, 3rd Degree Felony Property Damage, and Misdemeanor Unlawful Detention. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, following the act, which has been charged as 1st Degree Felony Forcible Sodomy, the victim was in severe pain in the lower stomach that worsened over the next few days. The victim went to a hospital where tests determined that there was a severe infection that came from a large tear in the colon. The victim had to be treated at the hospital for nearly a week. The charge of Property Damage is from incidents in July targeting the same victim. Miles was arrested and has been ordered to be held without bail in Duchesne County Jail.
