The Department of Workforce Services has shared an update to state and county unemployment data. July’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the State is estimated at 3.3%. Approximately 60,517 Utahns are unemployed. Utah’s June unemployment rate is unrevised at 3.2%. Daggett County unemployment ticked up to 3.9% while Duchesne County stayed the same at 3.6% and Uintah County at 3.4%.
The July national unemployment rate is up a tenth of a percentage point at 4.2%. “While the unemployment rate has edged up slightly,” shares Ben Crabb, chief economist with the Utah Department of Workforce Services, “it remains near historic lows, underscoring the resilience of our labor market.” The next update with employment and unemployment data is scheduled for release on September 22nd.
