A Roosevelt man was found with Fentanyl during a recent traffic stop in which he also had a young child with him. According to the Probable Cause Statement, the vehicle 37-year-old Adam Anderton was driving was stopped for an observed equipment violation in Uintah County on July 28th. During the stop, a state certified K-9 alerted officers to the presence of illegal narcotics. A search was conducted and located a tooter straw and a plastic bag with a Fentanyl pill between the center console and the driver’s seat. Anderton told officers he didn’t know the pill was in the vehicle and that he had recently purchased Fentanyl pills in Uintah County. Because of prior drug convictions, Anderton is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was also charged with Failure to Provide a Child Restraint Device for a Child Under the Age of 8, which is an Infraction.
