Man On Probation Arrested For Felony DUI After Fleeing From Police

A man with statewide warrants stopped then took off when pulled over by officers in Myton on August 11th. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, during the following pursuit, the driver, 61-year-old Paul Raymond Young, reached speeds of 70 mph within Myton City limits, driving on the wrong side of the road, failing to yield for stop signs, and at one point throwing a cell phone out of the car window, before eventually stopping. After Young was detained, he told the officer that he had a weapon in the vehicle. Also during questioning, he admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that day and said that he consumes about a gallon of alcohol a day. A Ruger 9mm handgun was located in the vehicle as well as Methamphetamine. A records check showed that Young’s license is revoked, he is on probation with Adult Probation and Parole, he has 2 statewide warrants, and he has at least one prior Felony DUI conviction. Field sobriety testing and a blood draw were done at the hospital before Young was transported and booked into the Duchesne County Jail. Paul Raymond Young is charged with Felony DUI, weapons, and drug charges, as well as Misdemeanor reckless driving, drug, and alcohol related charges. He is currently being held without bail.
