Beulah Fire Update

The Beulah Fire continues to grow in the High Uintas Wilderness. The Beulah Fire was reported on August 7th burning on the north side of the High Uintas. It is listed at 3,352 acres and is 0% contained. Response includes 9 helicopters, 9 engines, 10 crews, and 1 dozer. There are 390 personnel currently assigned. The Beulah Fire is burning through dense wooded areas where trees impacted by beetle kill are present, increasing the intensity of fire behavior and smoke columns. Crews are focusing on clearing these fuels to reinforce natural fire barriers and roadways. Roads and trails in the area are closed to the public.
