A temporary area closure has been ordered for the Fall Creek drainage on Ashley National Forest in the Duchesne Ranger District for 6 days in August as the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources continues a native cutthroat trout restoration project using rotenone.
The Forest Service announced that crews are scheduled to implement the treatment August 4th through August 9th. “The area within 20 feet of Fall Creek, its tributaries, and Anderson and Phinney Lakes will be closed during treatment. This closure is to allow ground crews to work safely in and around the treated waters.
This project serves to restore Colorado River cutthroat trout to their native range by removing competing nonnative species.”
