A man seen buying alcohol for minors was found to have drugs including Fentanyl on him and is facing charges for all of it. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, an officer conducting surveillance outside the Maeser 7-Eleven noticed a vehicle with multiple passengers who appeared to be waiting for someone. The individuals appeared to be minors. Soon, a motorcyle pulled into the parking lot and one of the individuals from the vehicle walked over and gave the man on the motorcycle, later identified as 42-year-old Daniel Patrick Engle, a hug. Engle entered the store and returned with a bag that appeared to contain gold cans. The vehicle pulled up next to the motorcycle and the individual from earlier grabbed the bag and then appeared to shake Engle’s hand. The vehicle then drove away. The officer suspected that Engle had purchased alcohol for who appeared to be underage subjects. The officer approached Engle while another officer pulled over the vehicle. Engle admitted to buying alcohol for underage minors. The officer that pulled over the vehicle located 4 cans of alcohol and noted that the vehicle occupants were all under the age of 18. As Engle was placed under arrest he was found to have 32 grams of Methamphetamine, 25 grams of Marijuana, and approximately 40 Fentanyl pills. The amount of drugs and cash, amounting to $5,801 dollars, were not considered typical for personal usage. Daniel Patrick Engle was arrested and is charged with 3 counts of Felony Possession with Intent to Distribute, Misdemeanor Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Engle’s initial appearance in court is scheduled for today.
