Two lakes in Daggett County will be closed during a rotenone treatment as part of a native cutthroat trout restoration project. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, in coordination with Ashley National Forest, is over the project. Crews will perform the rotenone treatment starting July 15th and running through July 22nd. “The area within 20 feet of Penguin and Upper Anson Lakes in Daggett County will be closed during treatment,” shares the announcement. “This closure is to allow ground crews to work safely in and around the treated waters. This project serves to restore Colorado River cutthroat trout to their native range by removing competing nonnative species.”
