There are many that consider the approval of the Wildcat Loadout Facility in Carbon County a win and the Utah Petroleum Association is among them. The Utah Energy United newsletter focused on BLM’s approval of the facility, providing more context on the timeline of the project’s approval. It explains, “The approval technically occurred under the new emergency permitting procedures implemented in April by the Trump Administration…What you may not know is that the Wildcat Loadout Facility has been in a permitting process with the BLM for more than two years and has gone through extensive agency reviews at every step of the process. This isn’t a new project, and its proponents have not cut the line or skirted any of the necessary processes in seeking its approval. On the contrary, the new procedures have examined what has come before and facilitated it getting across the finish line in a timely manner without needless redundancy and bureaucracy gumming up the works.” The Wildcat Loadout Facility will include unloading areas, a tank farm, loading systems, and related facilities to increase project capacity to transload oil.
