A semi truck with a tanker on fire burned up on Highway 6 late Saturday night due to what was reported as a mechanical error. A long line of vehicles were stopped and had to wait as emergency vehicles arrived. Multiple videos were posted on the ‘Eastern Utah Road and Weather Conditions Reports Updates’ Facebook page. One video posted by Lizzie Westbrook shares that the location was Mile Marker 197 on Highway 6 and that the tanker was carrying 1000 gallons of gasoline and 1000 gallons of diesel. The semi’s driver said he started seeing sparks from his left axle and he hit the barricade while trying to safely stop. The area was closed while the fuel burned and traffic was rerouted and detoured until it was safe to reopen the roadway.
