Cities and counties throughout the Basin are preparing applications for 2017 funding through the Community Development Block Grant. The Uintah County Commission discussed past, current and potential projects during Monday’s Commission meeting. In recent years, Uintah County used CDBG funds to provide engineering and architectural for Daniels Crossing Senior Housing, installing infrastructure in low income self help housing, and for upgrading equipment at TriCounty Health Department. The funds received by Uintah County in 2016 were to purchase 2 Meals on Wheels trucks. The County received $90,000 dollars for the new trucks that are expected to arrive in the coming weeks. Under consideration for 2017 is low income housing improvements, senior housing projects and funding for the shelter. The public can submit ideas for projects through the middle of February.
