The community is invited to take a survey concerning a proposed arts facility being explored by a local non-profit organization. The High Desert Center for the Arts is under the umbrella of The Vernal Arts Center, Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose goal is to build a world-class arts and entertainment venue in the Vernal area. A study to assess the feasibility for a project like this in our community was complete in 2023. At that time, the group was working under the name of the Vernal Arts Center and since then the project has been rebranded as the High Desert Center for the Arts. The design concepts on the project’s website feature a stand-alone arts and cultural facility that includes a 1,200 seat performance venue, gallery and exhibit space, studio space, classroom(s), rehearsal space, and more. The website, www.HighDesertCenterForTheArts.org, includes details on the purpose for the center, funding, and results of the studies performed. There is also a link for community members to take the survey. Exploration of operational business plans is taking place this summer.
