Today is a great day to tune in to Newstalk KVEL AM 920, 104.5 FM as there will be several important interviews airing. An interview with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins airs today on KVEL at 8am and 5pm. The interview focuses on the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ working its way through Congress right now. Secretary Rollins talks about what is in the bill, emphasizing that it includes a lot of great changes across the board but especially for the agriculture community. Another interview on Newstalk KVEL is with Amanda Strack with the Central Utah Water Conservancy District airing today at 9am and 6pm. Strack shares that they are working to be better partners with those here in the Uintah Basin and provides details on rebates and incentives available when it comes to water. A landscape conversion rebate offers $1.50 per square foot for lawn replacement while converting irrigation to a drip system offers a 50 cents per square foot rebate. Strack says there are rebates and programs available to pretty much everyone, including businesses and school districts as they want to see everyone become more aware of their water use and make smart improvements.
