Anyone that has seen the transformation at Red Fleet State Park will fully understand a recent award the park has received.  The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce Public Relations Committee named Red Fleet State Park as the recipient of their Beautification Award during Tuesday’s Chamber luncheon. The Chamber shared that before the remodel, Red Fleet State Park offered 4 Campsites with water and power and 34 primitive campsites that were really only designed for tents and small RVs. There were no pull through sites and no showers, parking was limited, and there were very few designated day-use areas. With the new construction completed by BHI, Red Fleet now has the following amenities: 26 back in and pull through campsites that offer power, water, fire ring, picnic table, and pavilion; 3 tiny homes that sleep 6 to 8 people fully equipped with beds, kitchen, bathroom and deck; a new shower facility with 8 restroom showers and day-use restrooms; a new gift shop; a new Day Use area with more parking and designated picnic tables with shade sails; a new septic system and new well and water system. “The Park was closed for almost 2 years, but it has been worth the wait,” shares Park Director Cole Unsworth. “We are excited to have the public back to enjoy Red Fleet in a new way. We are so thankful for the hard work from BHI, BOR, State Parks, and everyone that has had a hand in this new facility.”
