A New York Times bestselling author has an exciting character appearance in his newest novel, the real life Sweetwater County Sheriff John Grossnickle. Author Craig Johnson has a fan base for his Longmire novels and the new release, Return to Sender, brings the Sheriff Walt Longmire character to Sweetwater County, Wyoming, to track a mystery across the Red Desert. The books are also the basis of the Netflix original series Longmire. The Sweetwater County Library System is hosting author Craig Johnson for two events and Sheriff Grossnickle plans to also be in attendance to be part of the discussion of the realities of Sheriffing in Longmire’s fictitious world. “Craig’s storytelling brilliance shines in Return to Sender,” shares Sheriff Grossnickle. “As a friend, I’m proud of the care he took to research Sweetwater County and the Red Desert. He’s crafted a gripping, authentic new Longmire mystery, and I’m humbled to play a small part in the story and the rich tradition of the series.” The events are happening June 28th at the Golden Hour Senior Center in Green River at 1pm and the Holiday Inn Patio Room in Rock Springs at 6pm.
