Momentum is growing in the fight against a controversial BLM land management rule known as Planning 2.0(two point oh). The House of Representatives repealed the rule on Tuesday using the Congressional Review Act with a vote of 234 to 186. The Daily Caller reports that several Democrats crossed the aisle to support the repeal. Local officials have voiced their opposition of Planning 2.0 since the beginning, stating that it deprives locals the opportunity of managing their own land in the best way. Planning 2.0 also increases roadblocks to energy development. Utah Representative Rob Bishop has fought to see Planning 2.0 repealed and was key in Tuesday’s action to see the land management plan repealed in the House. The Senate has already begun their review and a vote is expected soon.
