The 7 County Infrastructure Coalition announced Wednesday the hiring of Uintah County Commissioner Mike McKee as the Coalition’s new Executive Director. The announcement was made at a press conference Wednesday afternoon in the Uintah County Commission Chambers during which Commissioner McKee also announced his resignation as Uintah County Commissioner. McKee has served the County in this position for 14 years and was integral in the formation of the 7 County Coalition 2 years ago. The Coalition’s announcement emphasized McKee’s extensive experience in finding solutions and his strong track record of economic development. McKee was emotional during the announcement as he spoke to County employees and members of the press, emphasizing the joy it has been to serve in Uintah County and his excitement to continue to serve Uintah County as the Executive Director of the Coalition. As the Uintah County representative on the Coalition, Commissioner Bill Stringer said all on the Coalition overwhelmingly agreed that Commissioner McKee has the qualifications and leadership needed. March 2nd will be McKee’s last day as Uintah County Commissioner. On March 3rd the Uintah County Republican Party Committee will formally be in charge of creating a plan to find a replacement for the Commission seat. They will have 30 days to submit a name to the County and the Commission will then have 5 days to approve it.
