The cyclical Basin economy and local industry leaders are gaining attention throughout the state. A Utah Business report released Thursday details the complexity of “cyclical booms and busts” endured in an oil and gas dominated economy but credits local government and industry leaders for their innovation during difficult times and clever diversification of economic opportunities. Superior Drilling Products in Vernal received high praise as a company that built from the ground up and has adjusted its strategy to meet demand. “Superior Drilling Products is an important example because of its continued innovation and adaptability,” shares the report. “One of its latest undertakings is to explore international expansion.” Shamrock Mines in Hanna and Three P/O, Inc. in Duchesne were also recognized as “evolving” companies determined to overcome economic difficulties.
