The FBI Salt Lake Field Office believes a serial robber wanted primarily in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico has also been hitting up Utah. Dubbed the Barrel Chested Bandit, this man is known to be responsible for 8 major bank robberies since August with others, including those in Utah, suspected to be his handy work. The man is described as a white male in his mid 40s to early 50s, around 5’8” tall, approximately 250 pounds, with a large build, light complexion and gray hair. In each robbery he has produced a small frame handgun, ordered the teller to give him money and exited on foot. Sandra Barker from the FBI Salt Lake Division says it appears the Barrel Chested Bandit is responsible for the armed robbery at the America First Credit Union in Draper that took place on January 12th. Utahns are asked to be on the lookout for this man. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the Barrel Chested Bandit.
