Governor Cox hosted a housing summit on Thursday that invited mayors and local officials from across the state to explore how to break down barriers to homeownership for Utahns. “These are the leaders working every day to make their communities better places to live, work and raise a family,” said Governor Cox. “Our goal is simple but urgent: how do we come together to make housing more attainable for Utah families?” Governor Cox announced a new statewide housing dashboard online that will be used to track progress and help policymakers to make data-backed decisions. Data updated last month shared the following about northeastern Utah: The number of deed restricted units is 140 in Uintah County and 133 in Duchesne County. The percentage of “Cost Burdened Renters” is 18.5% in Uintah County and 22.7% in Duchesne County. The percentage of households that are “priced out” and cannot afford the median-priced home is 67.1% in Uintah County and 60.6% in Duchesne County.
