A standoff 40 miles south of Rock Springs ended without incident on Tuesday. Wyoming State Patrol reported to SweetwaterNow that a chase began on Wyoming Highway 430 at around 12:40pm, after law enforcement attempted to stop what was believed to be a stolen vehicle. The driver fled south on Highway 430 and stopped about 40 miles south of Rock Springs but refused to surrender. A standoff between the driver and Wyoming State Patrol troopers lasted for several hours until the driver surrendered without further incident. No injuries were reported and the driver, whose identity was not released, was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center.
