A Uintah County man was arrested on Friday after a man was shot and killed related to a drug deal in which they were allegedly sold “fake drugs”. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, 50-year-old Michael Angus of Vernal and two other males went to the home to take back the money that was paid for a drug deal that occurred previously. Videos show the three men walking into the apartment complex as they put on gloves, which investigators note indicated that they were willing to take the money by force and did not want to leave fingerprints. The three men knocked on the victim’s door and produced a weapon. One of the men shot the victim, ultimately causing his death. Once in custody, Angus admitted that a drug deal had taken place 2 or 3 days before the shooting and that he was sold fake drugs. He said that the victim pulled a gun and that one of the other guys shot the victim. When asked about the other two males with him, Angus declined to speak further. He was arrested for the offense of 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Murder. Court records show that Michael Angus was arrested in Vernal City in April, after a report of an active burglary on South Vernal Avenue. When Angus was located in connection to the report, he was in possession of Methamphetamine and was arrested.
