An intoxicated male was arrested after an evening of dishing out harassment in Vernal City. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, 65-year-old Wayne Ussery caused a disturbance at the Vernal McDonald’s on May 16th but left the scene before police arrived. Not too long after, Ussery called dispatch several times stating he was cold but not willing to provide his location. Over several hours, Ussery called dispatch 22 times, yelling profanities and laughing when asked for his location. At approximately 3:45am, officers were searching the area Ussery was believed to be and they could hear him on the phone harassing the dispatchers. They located him hiding under a tree. Ussery resisted being brought into custody, showing increased aggression towards the officers. Wayne Ussery was arrested on the offenses of Public Intoxication, Interfering with Critical Infrastructure, Interfering with a Peace Officer, Assault by a Prisoner, Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Trespass.
