For those that love getting out in the forest we are approaching the most wonderful time of the year. Ashley National Forest announced this week that the Red Canyon Visitor Center and other interpretive sites on the Flaming Gorge Ranger District will soon open for the 2025 season. Starting this Saturday, May 24th, the Visitor Center will open with hours from 9am to 5pm daily. In addition, the historic Swett Ranch opens for daily self-guided tours of outside areas. Guided tours of the Ute Fire Lookout Tower also begin that day and will be available each week from 10am to 4pm Thursday through Sunday. The Lookout Tower has become a popular site to visit as it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For more updates, visit the Ashley National Forest Facebook page.
