A woman was shot and killed by a Duchesne County deputy on Saturday as officers responded to a domestic violence call. According to the press release from the Duchesne County Sheriff’s office, on May 10th at approximately 9:30 pm, Duchesne County Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in west Duchesne County. “While attempting to contact the adult female suspect, she opened the door carrying a handgun,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “Deputies ordered her to drop the weapon. The suspect raised the handgun and pointed it at the deputy. The deputy fired at her, striking her in the chest. Deputies and EMS immediately started life saving measures but she died at the scene.” The case is being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation. No names have been released pending notification of family.
