New infrastructure is destined for the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College campus. State funding was approved for the building of a new welding building on the Roosevelt campus. “We had some great success this year at the legislature,” shares UBATC President Aaron Weight. “We were funded for a welding technology building.” President Weight indicated that there will be expansion to the Vernal facility this year as well and that those improvements are anticipated to be ready by August. Exciting announcements like these are all about providing expansion and opportunities for the students. UBATC has 450 welding students each year and more are needed to keep up with the demand for welders in the Basin and beyond.
