Duchesne Girls Wrestling Win 1A/2A State Championship

The Duchesne High School girls wrestling team came home the winners of the 1A/2A State Championship over the weekend. The girls secured 213.5 points over second place Enterprise with 158.5 points. Altamont took 6th place with 75 points. Duchesne wrestlers that won individual titles include Breann Ivie, Ariana Jones, McKenlee Sprecher, Daniella Spencer, and Abigail Woods. Duchesne’s Leah Ivie and Altamont’s Preslee Thacker each placed 2nd in their categories. The Duchesne High School boys wrestling team placed 5th at state competition with 126 team points. Duchesne’s Jackson Stansfield won an individual title while Easton Moat and Kasen Bird each placed 2nd in their categories. Altamont boys wrestling took 2nd place in the 1A boys wrestling state tournament with 166.5 team points, with Panguitch winning the title. Altamont’s Levi Scott, Dillon Ivie, and Gage Bird won individual titles and Chaz Thacker placed 2nd in his category. Congratulations to all the wrestlers on their success at 1A/2A state wrestling!
