Duchesne County Continues Work on Resource Management Plan
Local counties continue their work updating Resource Management Plans. The Duchesne County Commission recently reviewed the costs associated so far in order to seek reimbursement from the state. Planning Administrator Mike Hyde presented $21,800 dollars in expenses so far incurred and the Commission approved a motion to seek the reimbursement through the Utah Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office. House Bill 323 was passed by the 2015 Utah Legislature initiating the requirements to update Resource Management Plans and followed up with House Bill 219 passed by the 2016 Utah Legislature. $50,000 dollars is available to each county to update their plans and Duchesne County will review expenses again in August to request a second reimbursement for new expenses incurred. The County Resource Management Plan sets forth county policies for the use of public lands.
