The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office has put some teeth behind spring cleanup regulations. “Everyone is excited to get out and get things cleaned up but please utilize the proper facilities to discard yard waste and materials,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “There are those that throw it out wherever they can from Dog Valley to the Honda Hills.” While there is never really an excuse for dumping waste in this way, this week there is especially no justification. Both Uintah and Duchesne County’s free landfill week is underway and runs through April 29th. Yard waste and trash from the home are free to dispose of during those dates but unsecured or uncovered loads will be fined. “We urge people to use the proper facilities such as the dump and garbage services during their cleanup efforts,” continues the Sheriff’s Office. “If you see others dumping trash in the County, please let us know because we will aggressively go after that.”
