Spring and summer fun are heating up making boating and fishing a likely activity. The Daggett County LEPC, Emergency Preparedness Committee, is advising caution for anyone recreating on the Green River. “The river is flowing fast and high, making it complicated to canoes and kayaks and challenging to rafters,” shares the LEPC. “If you are unfamiliar with the river, we recommend you inquire at local businesses, with local guide services, or with the U.S. Forest Service about current river conditions and best navigation options.” Releases from Flaming Gorge are currently at full capacity of 8600 cubic feet per second with the bypass jet valves open to mitigate spring runoff. All are urged to use extreme caution, wear life jackets, and obey all warnings and restrictions.
