Graduates, family members, instructors, and administrators from the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College filled the Uintah Conference Centeron Wednesday for the 2017 graduation ceremony. There were over 450 graduates and the place was packed, shares UBATC representative Stephanie Carter. It’s been an exciting year for UBATC, particularly for the school’s welding program. Most recently the welding students competed in the Bridgerland ATC competition in Logan where UBATC’s Benche’t Kenney took 1st place and fellow student Jordan Wynn took 3rd place. Also in the last year, UBATC student Chandler Vincent took home the title in the welding world trials meaning he will represent the United States in the World Welding competition in Abu Dhabi this fall. A new welding technology building was announced as well as a national welding partnership with two welding industry leaders, NORCO Welding Supply and Miller Electronic Manufacturing. It’s been an exciting year for the welding program and the entire UBATC organization.
