The opportunity to declare candidacy for the 2017 municipal elections is approaching. The Naples City Municipal Election will be held to elect a Mayor and two city council members. Mayor Dean Baker’s term is up December 31st, as well as councilmen Robert Hall and Dennis Long. The Vernal City Municipal Election will be held to also elect a Mayor and two City Council positions to serve 4 year terms. Mayor Sonja Norton’s term of office is up December 31st, as well as council member Ted Munford and council member Bert Clark. Roosevelt City has no positions up for election during this election cycle. If necessary, a primary election will be held on August 15th. Each person seeking to become a candidate must file a Declaration of Candidacy Form in person with the City Recorder’s office between June 1st and June 7th.
