TriCounty Health Department is urging the community to be part of a group of local volunteers that makes a major difference when emergencies strike the Uintah Basin. The Medical Reserve Corp. was founded by President George W. Bush after the 9/11 terror attacks where thousands of volunteers wanted to help but the logistics became a management nightmare. It’s important to be prepared and plenty of Basin residents have the kind of hearts that want to help during emergencies, according to TriCounty Health coordinator Jeff Robb. “We want people to join [the Medical Reserve Corp] so they can be trained,” shares Robb. “We can check out your background and verify licenses and that way we can put you right to work and focus more on the [emergency at hand].” For more information, visit www.tricountyhealth.com or call 435-247-1169.
